Your driver gets stops in the right order

Many growing tiffin kitchens hit this day. A driver quits, a new one starts, and the owner finds out the route was only ever in the old driver's head. The next two hours go to reading addresses over the phone while the food goes cold.

Tiffinware is set up so a driver who started this morning can finish tonight's route without you.

Delivery areas

You set delivery areas by postal code, using the first three characters. Those match the neighbourhoods people live in. When a customer signs up, they are put in the right area from their address.

A map shows each area's boundary, so you can see it instead of trusting a list of codes.

The delivery areas report shows customers, deliveries, how many were delivered, and sales for each area. That is how you find an area that loses money because the customers are few and far apart.

One route per area

Each area's deliveries for the day become one route, given to one driver. That keeps a driver from crossing the city twice. It also lets you compare drivers fairly.

A route can't go out until the day is packed. If it starts before the food is boxed, the driver just waits in your kitchen.

Stop order

When the driver starts the route, the stops are put in the shortest driving order from where they are. Less driving, less gas, less time. A new driver doesn't have to know the neighbourhood.

They go down the list from top to bottom.

Made to use with one hand, in a car, in winter:

• The day's stops, in order. No planning and no map-reading.
• One tap for delivered. One tap for not delivered, with a reason.
• A photo at every door. Proof of delivery, so "I never got it" is easy to answer.

What you see in the kitchen

Each stop is marked delivered as the driver delivers it. When a customer calls to ask, you can check without calling the driver first.

Delivery reports

There are four. Delivery history shows any past day, every stop with its photo, and you can search and export it. Delivery performance shows how many stops were delivered, by area, with distance and gas. Failed deliveries shows each one with its reason, because problems tend to come from the same address or buzzer. Drivers ranks your drivers and checks their pay against the stops they delivered.

A failed delivery is a meal you cooked, packed and drove, and can't charge for. The way to fix it is to know which addresses keep failing.
